My Plumber Heating and Cooling donated over $7,500 in services to a Wounded
Warrior. The company installed a new Heating and Air Conditioning System,
a new water heater, and a new dishwasher to a permanently, disabled veteran
in Manassas. The company learned of the plight of the Wounded Warrior,
Darryl Cunningham, after receiving a call from Vienna Presbyterian Church-
one of its local charitable partners.
Darryl Cunningham, a 100% permanently, disabled, Army veteran, was hesitant
at first to contact anyone about his $900 a month heating bill. He was
living in a home with broken baseboard heaters, no air conditioning service,
a leaking water heater, and a broken dishwasher. However, when his wife
was diagnosed with breast cancer, he felt he had no choice, other than
to seek help from others. He contacted the Yellow Ribbon Fund, an organization
assisting injured service members, who in turn contacted the Vienna Presbyterian
Church (VPC). The Church purchased a new
HVAC system, new water heater, and a new dishwasher at a discount from Lowes, but
could not afford installation services. That’s when they contacted
Todd Shea, sales manager at My Plumber Heating and Cooling. After learning
of Mr. Cunningham’s predicament, the company offered to install
everything free of charge.
“We were pleased to help someone who has served our country so selflessly.
We have worked with Vienna Presbyterian Church on other charitable projects,
so it came as no surprise that they would contact us again”, stated
