Did you know?
The Centers for Disease Control estimates that nearly 1 in every 68 children
will be diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Though it’s
unclear if this is due to a broader definition of ASD and better efforts
in diagnosis, the simple fact means raising awareness and encouraging
acceptance is more important than ever.
My Plumber Heating & Cooling is committed to Walk for Autism.
On Saturday, October 24, My
Plumber Heating & Cooling sponsored, and attended the 11th Annual Walk for
Autism for Virginia. The half a million dollars raised by this event since
its inception a decade ago has greatly benefited the community in the
form of education, advocacy and support.
My Plumber Heating and Cooling is proud to work alongside organizations
like Walk for Autism and The Autism Society of Northern Virginia with
two goals in mind: To increase the public’s knowledge of ASD, and
to enrich the lives of those on the autism spectrum.
“We are so grateful for The Autism Society of Northern Virginia and
the awesome work they do in our community,” said Wendell Presgrave,
owner of My Plumber Heating & Cooling in Manassas, Virginia.
As the Washington, DC metropolitan area’s go-to plumber, My Plumber
recognizes the vital importance of community involvement; in addition
to promoting awareness, company employees regularly volunteer their time
to support, and fundraise for the cause.
