Heat Advisory Precautions

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), heat is the number one
weather-related killer in the US. On average, excessive heat claims more
lives each year than floods, lightning, tornadoes, and hurricanes combined.
The NWS has issued a Heat today due to the combination of high temperatures
and high humidity which has created a heat index of 114F. Children, elders,
and those with mental illness or respiratory problems should stay indoors
as much as possible. (Make sure indoors has air conditioning).

The last thing anyone wants is for their air conditioner to break down
on a day like today. However, if you need
AC repair service or replacement, My Plumber Cooling technicians can fix, repair, or replace
your AC. We are experienced in servicing any air conditioner make or model
and will get your cooling system up and running quickly. We also specialize
in cooling system maintenance and AC tune-ups that we guarantee all summer
long. Regular AC maintenance will help prevent breakdowns, extend the
life of your cooling system, and save you money on your air conditioning
bills by keeping your system running efficiently.

If your home does not have air conditioning, go to a shopping mall or public
library. Your body will stay cooler even if you spend just a few hours
indoors before you go back into the heat. Call your local health department
to see if there are any heat-relief shelters in your area. Electric fans
may provide comfort, but when the temperature is in the high 90s, fans
will not prevent heat-related illness. Taking a cool shower or bath or
moving to an air-conditioned place is a much better way to cool off.
