Northern Virginia’s top heating and cooling company, My Plumber, participates in this year’s flag football game to benefit wounded warriors and their families.
“I don’t measure a man’s success by how high he climbs, but how high he bounces when he hits bottom,” General Patton is noted as saying.
“I think he was talking about the internal strength and the human spirit of our soldiers when he said this. It is a privilege to be a part of this event and to be a part of giving back to our Wounded Warriors as they have given so much to all of us,” said Wendell Presgrave owner and founder of My Plumber Heating and Cooling, Northern Virginia’s top heating and cooling company.
He was talking about the Wounded Warrior Amputee Football Team which is composed of men and women who lost a limb in Iraq or Afghanistan in their service to our country. Former Redskins star Brian Mitchell, along with former NY Giants and current TV star Dhani Jones, will host this event. They will be joined by more than 25 other popular and well-known Washington Redskins and NFL Alumni.
The event will be held on November 16th from noon until 3:00 p.m. at Bishop O’Connell High School, McMurtrie Field, 6600 Little Falls Road, Arlington, VA. The cost for the event is $20/Adults, $10/Children.
The Wounded Warriors purpose is to:
- To foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation’s history.
- To raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members.
- To help injured service members aid and assist each other.
- To provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.
On top of the featured flag football game, there will also be a free photo and autograph opportunity for attendees prior to kick-off. Raffles will also be held for those in attendance. Prizes include Hall-of-Fame autographed NFL memorabilia and a GRAND PRIZE NFL game package.
